Foundation
The Four Rivers Community Foundation connects donors with the causes that strengthen our region, from health and lifelong learning to leadership and liveability.
We are a community foundation established by Four Rivers Healthy Community, a tax-exempt public charity that has served the Western Treasure Valley since 2003.
The Foundation grew out of the Expanding Community Philanthropy pillar of HomeTown Competitiveness, which began exploring how to structure local giving in 2013.
We provide opportunities to invest in the community you call home.
How We Work
The Foundation accepts a variety of asset types and makes giving accessible through multiple approaches — from one-time donations to long-term estate planning arrangements. Whether you’re an individual, a business, or an organization, there is a way to invest in this community through the Foundation.
Ways to Give
- Direct donation — A straightforward contribution to the Foundation’s Endowed Fund.
- Scholarship funds — Support named scholarships like the Stringer Memorial Scholarship or Robert Manwill Scholarship Fund.
- Endowment giving — Contributions that generate ongoing support for community programs in perpetuity.
- Estate planning — Planned gifts that leave a lasting legacy in the Treasure Valley.
Our Endowment
In 2021, the Foundation established its first endowment fund with the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) with an initial gift of $25,000 — invested across OCF’s Main Investment Pool and Social Impact Pool. In December 2024, the Foundation added a second $25,000 to the fund, drawn from program accounts that had been inactive for more than 12 months, bringing the endowment’s total principal to $50,000. Endowed funds are invested for long-term growth, with a portion distributed annually to support the Foundation’s work, ensuring a lasting source of support for the community.
