Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Every child deserves a love of reading — and a shelf full of books to prove it.
The Dolly Parton Imagination Library mails one free, age-appropriate book every month to enrolled children from birth through age five. The program was launched in 1995 by the Dollywood Foundation in East Tennessee and has since expanded across the United States, Canada, Australia, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

The Impact of Books
Research consistently shows that early literacy is one of the strongest predictors of school readiness and long-term academic success. For many families in our region, the Imagination Library is the primary source of books in the home.
The Cost
Books are always free to families — but they aren’t free to provide. The program costs approximately $2.60 per book per child per month, or roughly $31 per child per year.
Your donation keeps books flowing to children across Malheur, Payette, and Washington Counties.
Nationally
Globally, the Dollywood Foundation has gifted over 257 million books to children, mailing approximately 3 million books every month across all affiliate programs worldwide.
